Georgiopoulos Nikolaos
General Information:
Born and raised in Athens Greece, I studied
Statistics and Actuarial science at the University of the Aegean where
I received the first academic award from the Association of Greek
Insurance companies for my overall academic performance. Continued
studies at the University of Lausanne obtaining a master in Banking and
Finance focusing on Real Options, a subject at which my final thesis
was based as an empirical evaluation of a particular Real Options
model. Also have been involved in extra-curricular activities, such as
student representative at the university board for three consecutive
years and also member of the Greek Association for European and
Atlantic Cooperation an NGO examining Euro-Atlantic relations under the
aegis of NATO. In my free time I read history and politics and do
cycling and swimming.
Education:
• Since 2006: PhD student at the Vienna Graduate School of Finance (full scholarship)
• 2000–2004 Aegean University, Undergraduate Degree in Statistics and Actuarial Science.
• 2004-2005 University of Lausanne, Master in Banking and Finance
• November 2005 Participating in the seminar of the Greek Stock Exchange regarding fundamental analysis of stocks.
• December 2005 Participated in Economist Banking and Finance conference
• July 2006 Attended seminar regarding NATO-European relations with guest speaker NATO General Secretary Jaap De Hoop Scheffer.
