Siyahhan Baran

General Information:

I studied Business Administration at Middle East Technical University (Turkey). I then decided to pursue a career in finance and was accepted to Bilkent University (Turkey) with a full scholarship. It was there that I first had the opportunity to study one of my main research interests, real options and furthermore decided to continue the academic track. Thinking that an international exposure is particularly important to an academic career, I joined the VGSF in 2005. My current research is at the intersection of capital structure theory, industrial organization and game theory. I have presented my work at several conferences including European Winter Finance Summit (2008) and EFMA (2008). I have been also conducting the Finance Paper Reading Group together with Jin Yu since March 2008. [curriculum vitae]
